Know a diabetic?
Frederick Banting’s beautiful poster celebrates insulin, the drug he discovered that saves diabetic’s lives.

  • Insulin is absolutely required for all animal life and is virtually identical in nematode worms, fish and mammals. In humans, insulin deprivation leads to death in days.
  • When Frederick Banting was researching diabetes he had to sell his car in order to fund his research.
  • Banting wasn’t known as a scholar. In his original first notes he spelled diabetes as diabetus.

Our motto is: Art with a science message.  This museum quality Fine Art poster is the result of a collaboration between the photographer, Leonard Gay, and the artist, Jeremy Mauney. It is printed on Premium Canon Photo Paper.

Should insulin actually be named isletin? Read the fascinating story of how insulin was named in T-shirt Tales.
All posters and shirts come with a T-shirt Tale, a printed certificate explaining the story of the item.
